Today is Thursday, April 16th and the Russ family is on the move again. This time, finally, we're heading to greener spaces and more blue sky. This journey began back in 1996 and together we've lived in three big-city houses, in an attic, on a boat, in a water-front cottage, and a downtown apartment. Each move was an exciting one; however, not long after we settled in at each new place, the conversation always turned to "guineas." We've worked hard together through the years to find that happy place called home. We were happy but didn't feel we were at "home."
The new address is 2284 Dudley Shoals Road in Granite Falls (28630). The closing date is April 28. This blog will showcase the transformation of yet another Russ residence, hopefully into something magical. The house needs help and will be completely remodeled, but the location needs nothing but pure appreciation. It's a little over 4 "green acres" and breathtaking views include pasture in front and in back and an incredible sunset over the Blue Ridge moutain range.
Each time we go there, the song plays over in my mind: Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong......
